Windows XP Dialup Guide

Step 1

Click on the Start Menu.

Click on Control Panel

Step 2

Double click on the Network Connections icon.

Step 3

Click on Create a New Connection.

Step 4

A 'New Connection Wizard' will appear, click on the Next button.

Step 5

Select Connect to the Internet and then click on the Next button.

Step 6

Select Set Up My Connection Manually and then click on the Next button.

Step 7

Select Connect Using a Dial-up Modem and click on the Next button.

Step 8

Type "Spin" as the ISP Name and then click on the Next button.

Step 9

Enter 0198 333 873 into the Phone Number field and then click on the Next button.

Step 10

Enter your user name into the User name field.

Enter your password into the Password field, and retype it into the Confirm password field.

Untick the box next to Use this account name and password when anyone connects to the internet from this computer.

Untick the box next to Turn on Internet Connection Firewall for this connection.

Click on the Next button.

Step 11

Tick the box next to Add a Shortcut To This Connection To My Desktop and Click on the Finish button.

Step 12

Double click on the Spin icon that you have just created.

Step 13

Check your username and password are as outlined above and click the Dial button to connect.

Please note that when configuring your backup dialup service should use your full broadband username and password, including @spin.net.au
