FAQ: IBURST - WHY DO I HAVE SUCH POOR SIGNAL?

Check your signal strength and error rate.

Windows Users- Click the iB icon in your system tray.

Mac Users- Unfortunately iBurst cannot provide this feature for you

If your signal is poor this is most likely the cause of your problems and we suggest moving about to try to obtain a better signal. Windows and balconies are best, but sometimes you may be between two different iBurst towers which will make the signal erratic. Try moving more indoors.

* Keep the number of walls and ceilings to a minimum - Each wall or ceiling can rob your Wireless product of between 3 to 90 feet of range. Position your wireless router and computers so that the number of walls or ceilings between is minimised.

* Try to make sure that the access point and adapters are positioned so that the signal will travel straight through a wall or ceiling for better reception.

* Try to position the wireless router and computers so that the signal passes through drywall or open doorways and not other materials.

* Make sure the antenna is positioned for best reception by using the software signal strength tools included with your product.

* Keep your hardware away (at least 3-6 feet) from electrical devices that generate radio frequency noise, like microwaves, monitors, electric motors, UPS units, etc.

* If you are using 2.4GHz cordless phones or X-10 (wireless products such as ceiling fans, lights, and home security systems), your wireless connection may experience interruption or drop out completely. If you are experiencing difficulty achieving a connection, try turning these items offer to see if it has any effect.
